Construction Project Manager

10+ years of experience in heavy industrial or commercial construction
4-year degree in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a member of project teams to develop project scope, project cost estimates, and project schedules
  • Participate in on-site field/scope visits
  • Assist in developing schedules, including critical paths
  • Develop detailed construction plans and identify outage requirements to implement new facilities
  • Identify required permits and develop detailed estimates
  • Work with the Utility Company's major accounts group regarding outages affecting external/internal customers
  • Develop construction contract bid packages, review responses, and participate in vendor selection
  • Conduct pre-bid meetings with contractors
  • Participate in design constructability reviews for all disciplines (site, foundation, electrical & relay, T-Line) to identify and eliminate costly expenses during the construction phase
  • Perform quality assurance checks during construction
  • Monitor schedule and progress versus requested in-service date
  • Responsible for closeout of construction contracts and as-built documentation
  • Monitor that all Utility Company procedures and processes are followed to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements

Skill Sets & Expertise

  • Self-starter and proactive with effective communication skills
  • Adequate knowledge of OSHA and applicable environmental regulations
  • Extensive knowledge of construction standard practices, techniques, quality requirements, applicable codes, and standards
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts and labor agreements
  • Ability to interface with contractors, designers, vendors, and other parties connected with the project
  • Working knowledge of rigging and lifting methods
