Upward Academy Foreign Language Instructor teaches onsite, face-to-face classes in Tyson facilities. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of team members by helping them improve their Foreign Language skills. As an instructor, you will play a crucial role in empowering employees, enhancing their communication abilities, and contributing to their personal and professional growth. This class is a free benefit to Tyson employees, and we are seeking someone who is able to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and who has experience teaching Foreign Languages.
Responsibilities
• Teach Foreign Language (e.g Spanish, French, etc.) courses for team members at a Tyson facility.
• Create and develop materials associated with the courses taught.
• Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and trainings to stay updated and enhance teaching skills.
• Participate in recruitment events and culminating activities to support the program and engage with the community.
Required Qualifications
• Knowledge of teaching strategies and methods: Including grammar, reading, writing, and listening/speaking.
• Native-like fluency: Good command of written and spoken (include foreign language (e.g. Spanish, French, etc.) and English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Essential for managing course materials and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
• Education and Experience:
o Bachelor's degree: In foreign language (e.g. Spanish, French, etc.), Teaching, or a related field.
o 3 years teaching experience: In adult education.
• Special Skills:
o Strong classroom management skills: Organizational and planning skills, ability to give clear, concise directions and explanations.
o Proficiency in a second language: Enhances communication with students from diverse backgrounds.
o Cross-cultural sensitivity: Essential for understanding and addressing the needs of students from various cultural backgrounds.
o Excellent technology application skills and experience: To integrate technology effectively into teaching.
