On-Site role

Job Description:

• Monday thru Friday 8 AM to 5 PM
• Seeking an experienced Hardware Technician with a strong hands-on background in rack stacking, hardware troubleshooting, and data center equipment setup.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying and maintaining high-performance computing systems, including compute, networking, and storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rack Stack Installation: Install and configure servers, networking gear, and storage units in data center racks. Ensure proper cabling, labeling, and power management.
• Hardware Troubleshooting: Candidate must be capable of diagnosing and resolving issues across three core areas:
• Compute (CPU & GPU): Identify and replace faulty components. Diagnose issues related to thermal, power, or hardware performance.
• Networking: Integrate and troubleshoot both Ethernet and Infinity Band network infrastructures. Configure and test Ethernet switches and related networking hardware.
• Storage Systems: Replace failed drives and address hardware issues in storage arrays. Troubleshoot storage systems including SSD-based setups, RAID configurations, and parallel file systems. Understand file systems, storage policies, and data access performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in hardware deployment and troubleshooting.

Solid understanding of: 

• Server architecture and components
• Network cabling and protocols
• Storage architecture and drive-level failure recovery
• Basic experience with Linux commands and OS
• Demonstrated ability to independently identify and fix hardware issues.
• Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness and enthusiasm to learn emerging technologies and practices in high-performance computing.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be present on-site in Milpitas, CA 5 days a week.
• Immediate availability preferred.
