HR Operations Associate

Location: St. Louis, MO
Duration: 12-Month Contract
Work Schedule: Onsite Monday–Thursday | Work From Home on Fridays
Note: Only candidates local to St. Louis, MO will be considered.

Job Description

The HR Operations Associate provides administrative support to multiple Purina manufacturing facilities, handling HR transactions, employee records management, training coordination, and HR-related communications. This role requires strict confidentiality, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of HR and payroll processes.

The position supports employee lifecycle activities, responds to HR inquiries, collaborates with HR Centers of Excellence, and serves as a key liaison between factory personnel, HR Business Partners, and HR Services teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and demonstrates strong organizational and customer service skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process routine HR transactions and correspondence according to business requirements.
  • Maintain and update employee lifecycle documentation, including employment changes and HR records.
  • Manage job requisitions, position changes, organizational updates, retirements, and separations.
  • Assess employee and manager inquiries, gather information, and provide guidance through various HR systems.
  • Support high-volume HR operations for assigned client groups.
  • Identify trends, concerns, and process improvement opportunities and communicate them to HR leadership and partners.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations, Factory HR, HR Business Partners, and HR Services teams.
  • Create, maintain, and improve HR processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate distribution of employee-related information, policies, and communications.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and team members.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of employee records, including Form I-9 verification processes.
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation sessions as needed.
  • Support additional HR-related projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant combination of education and HR experience will be considered.

Experience

  • 3+ years of customer service experience required.
  • 1+ year of Human Resources experience preferred.

Skills

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Power Platform (preferred).
  • Experience handling high-volume HR transactions, including:
    • Employee and manager inquiries
    • Transfers and promotions
    • Terminations
    • Leaves of absence
    • Payroll and timekeeping issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent stakeholder management skills.
