Title: Interim Project Manager (Operational Excellence Manager)
Location: Remote
Duration: 4 Months

 

Job Description:

  • We are seeking an experienced and certified Interim OpEx Project Manager to join our team for a 4-month period. As the Interim OpEx Manager, you will be responsible for leading, reviewing, and coaching the deployment of Lean fundamentals at our client's site. You will work closely with project teams, belts, and sponsors to ensure the successful execution of critical improvement projects and deliver substantial savings. The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of chemical manufacturing and Lean methodologies.

Responsibilities:
Lead and Coach Lean Deployment:

  • Participate in performance dialogs and ensure execution to standard, providing coaching to participants.
  • Coach belts and sponsors in their L&SS Green Belt projects, guiding them through the project execution.
  • Ensure the execution of the site project roadmap, monitoring progress and delivering savings projects.

Pro IV - TPM Program Implementation:

  • Drive the implementation of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program for both filling lines.
  • Implement, coach, and review the execution of TPM elements, such as Continuous Improvement Leadership (CIL), defect identification, and center lining.

Pro V - Process Efficiency Improvement:

  • Identify and address bottlenecks to increase efficiency in the S&D (Shipping and Distribution) down filling process.
  • Analyze current processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement effective solutions.

Quality Improvement:

  • De-bottleneck the Quality Control (QC) process, focusing on reducing effort for urgent sample testing.
  • Identify and implement improvements to streamline and optimize the QC workflow.

Warehouse Analysis and Congestion Relief:

  • Lead the analysis of the warehouse operations and identify areas of congestion.
  • Develop and implement strategies to relieve congestion and improve overall warehouse efficiency.

Requirements:

  • 5-10+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Trained and certified as a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
  • Ability to coach belts in Green Belt projects, providing guidance and support throughout their project execution.
  • Proficiency in applying Lean fundamentals, including 6S Program, Total Productive Maintenance, Performance Dialogs, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority, driving change and achieving results.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering sustainable process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering tangible savings and operational improvements.
