Title: Process Engineer
Location: Jefferson, WI
Duration: 12 months

Job Description:  

  • Must-Have Food Processing Manufacturing Experience.
  • This is an onsite Process Engineer to support the Jefferson expansion project.
  • The team is looking for a Process Engineer with Process/Food manufacturing capex project experience (MUST HAVE).
  • Food processing, kitchen, mass flow (but not packaging or automation).

Position Summary:  

  • Day to day you will plan, conduct, or coordinate Process/Industrial Engineering functions covering all aspects of process unit operations as applied in the production of wet and dry pet foods, pet treats, and cat/dog litter.
  • Technical expertise includes building capital projects, system design, manufacturing, simulation models, work methods, ergonomics, quality systems, database mining, and statistical analysis.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • 40% - Contribute to capital project development and execution using traditional Process/Industrial Engineering Tools, such as simulation modeling, Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and statistical data analysis.  Simulation work will be used to define the scope for new projects, identify bottlenecks, and unlock capacity in existing systems.  Requires strong communication skills and ability to perform well on teams. 
  • 25% - Assist in capital project design/execution, equipment specification, and procurement, development of BFD, PFD, & P&ID, and technical model review. Requires ability to collaborate with and contribute to cross-functional teams.
  • 25% - Create basic process operation documentation for capital projects to outline operational interface with capital equipment as pertains to quality, maintenance, sanitation, and production work methods.
  • 10% - Design and develop queries within SQL to perform data mining which aids in capital project development and simulation modeling.

Basic Qualifications (Minimum):

Education: 

  • Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering - Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Preferred

Experience (Years/Type):

  • 3 Years Minimum Experience in process design, process equipment, process instrumentation, manufacturing operations, and process engineering support roles in food, pharmaceutical, chemical, or manufacturing industries.   

Skills: 

  • Team-oriented with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with industrializing new process technologies.
  • Experience with P&ID development, equipment sizing and specification, bulk material handling, liquids handling, and mass & energy balances.
  • Experience with Simulation, Work Methods, Quality Systems, Ergonomic Analysis, SQL Database, and Statistical Analysis preferred.
  • Steel-toe shoes are required and to be provided at your own expense.
  • Other safety gear will be provided by the facility.
