Job Description:
- The Utility Scale (US) Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the development, evaluation, procurement, and management of renewable energy resources, including Utility Scale Request for Proposals (RFPs), Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and Qualifying Facility (QF) projects.
- This position serves as a subject matter expert related to project risk evaluation, contractual terms and conditions, renewable and energy storage applications, interconnection processes, and project execution.
- The Utility-Scale Team currently has a hybrid work schedule and works in the office (241 Ralph McGill) weekly, Monday through Thursday.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as the project manager and primary point of contact for Utility Scale renewable procurement programs and QF projects.
- This position works with large and diverse teams across client and external stakeholders to successfully develop, execute, and administer renewable energy projects.
- Manage renewable energy projects and contracts from evaluation and procurement through commercial operation.
- Lead evaluation, development, negotiation, implementation, and management of Utility Scale PPAs and QF agreements.
- Oversee QF project intake, evaluation, interconnection coordination, milestone tracking, and commercial operation readiness.
- Provide regulatory support for PPA certification activities, QF program implementation, and IRP development.
- Support after-hours storm restoration efforts as needed.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Energy Policy, Finance, or other technical/business area preferred.
- Additional consideration for master's degree and/or certifications (PE, CEM, PMP, etc.).
Experience:
- Prior experience in energy policy, renewables, project management, system planning, energy procurement, and/or utility operations preferred.
- Experience with QF project development, evaluation, contract administration, interconnection processes, regulatory compliance, or portfolio management preferred.
- Working knowledge of PURPA, QF regulations, avoided-cost procurement programs, and renewable energy contracting processes is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of renewable procurement, Interconnection Agreements, PPAs, and QF program requirements.
- Understanding of the QF project lifecycle including evaluation, interconnection, contracting, commercial operation, and compliance obligations.
- Ability to evaluate project risks, contractual terms, commercial milestones, and regulatory requirements associated with Utility Scale and QF projects.
