Job Description:

• The Database, PLSQL director/associate position is responsible for designing, developing software applications used by Clients, customer and support personnel. 
• This role requires strong software engineering, database development using Oracle PLSQL, Strong Oracle SQL Skills, Performance Tuning and good problem-solving skills. 
• Must be having Unix, Shell scripting knowledge as well.

Qualifications - External
Required Experience: 
Primary skills:

• Analyzes complex information, designs, develops and troubleshoots database applications.
• Write and Optimize SQL queries to improve database performance.
• Performs new development, maintenance fixes and enhancements to meet business requirements.
• Oracle PLSQL Coding and understanding of packages, procedures, triggers, views etc.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate database with applications.
• Trouble shoot and resolve issues related to Unix and Database development.
• Assists other teams to troubleshoot application issues in production, quality assurance and other environments.
• Develop and maintain Unix shell scripts to automate tasks and workflows.
• Good to have Java and Perl knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience in database development is required.
• Must be able to write SQL queries, develop the PLSQL code, and can review the code.
• Working experience with Tools like SQL Developer/TOAD, Reading and Understanding of AWR Reports etc.
• Highly self-motivated, with the ability to complete tasks with minimal guidance, and to learn independently.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have logical aptitude to understand interactions/workings of systems.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills in working in a cross-functional team comprised of Product Analysts, QA, Development and PMO members.
• Must be able to follow a project schedule and juggle tasks and priorities to meet rapidly changing deadlines.
• Must be familiar with Agile methodologies.
• Good to have skills.
• Background in Securities/Banking/Financial Services.
• Trading domain business knowledge is a plus.
• Hands on experience in Oracle Administration related to versions, upgrades etc. is a strong plus.
