Job Description:
- The Revenue Accounting Contractor will provide temporary operational support to the Revenue Accounting team during an employee leave period.
- This role will assist with a variety of accounting and operational activities, including close processes, revenue accounting, reserves, reconciliations, audit support, reporting, and process automation initiatives.
- The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and cross-functional business partners to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while supporting ongoing operational and strategic initiatives.
Skills:
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and financial reporting deliverables.
- Prepare and analyze accounting data, supporting documentation, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial results.
- Assist with revenue accounting and reserve-related processes, including accruals and other revenue-related transactions.
- Perform data analysis and investigate accounting variances, unusual trends, reconciliation differences, and system exceptions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Sales Operations, Pricing, Claims, IT, and BU Finance, to resolve issues and ensure timely completion of close activities.
- Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and maintaining audit-ready support.
- Execute and document SOX controls and assist with maintaining compliance with internal control requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of management reporting, financial analyses, and ad hoc business requests.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, automation projects, system enhancements, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities.
- Support the development and maintenance of process documentation, desktop procedures, and operational guidance materials.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance the accuracy and reliability of accounting processes.
- Perform special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
