Principal Software Engineer

Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced technical leader to architect scalable systems, drive engineering excellence, and mentor a high-performing team.
• In this role, you will act as the bridge between business strategy and technical execution, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do:

• Drive Architecture & Delivery: Architect and deliver resilient, scalable microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka-based event-streaming pipelines.
• Optimize Systems: Design robust MS SQL schemas, stored procedures, and optimize queries for high-throughput transactional workloads.
• Build Full-Stack Solutions: Partner with UX and product teams to integrate back-end APIs with responsive, accessible front-end interfaces.
• Lead & Mentor: Directly manage and coach 4–8 engineers through 1:1s, clear technical blockers, and actively help hire and scale the team.
• Set the Standard: Champion CI/CD, observability, security, and Agile best practices while translating business requirements into clear technical roadmaps.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Extensive Experience: 10+ years of hands-on software engineering, with a strong track record of delivering large-scale production systems.
• Deep Technical Expertise: Mastery of Java (11+), the Spring ecosystem, and advanced MS SQL (indexing, T-SQL, and execution plans).
• System & Frontend Fluency: Proven ability to build distributed Kafka pipelines and solid proficiency in modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue).
• Empathetic Leadership: A history of owning delivery milestones, building team consensus during conflicts, and proactively escalating solutions rather than just problems.
• Cloud & Container Bonus: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly preferred.
