Software Engineer

Hybrid role - 3 days Onsite and 2 days Remote

Job Description:

• Software Engineer, Ride and Fleet Services (Contract Role)
• Hybrid Schedule (3 days on-site)
• Client is on an ambitious journey to develop a full-stack autonomous mobility solution for cities and the Ride and Fleet Services team plays a foundational role in making it happen.
• We’re looking for a Software Engineer (Contract: 40 hours per week, starting for 6 months) to join the team and gain hands-on, real-world experience building the tools and automation that drive client’s rider experience stack.
• This role is an excellent opportunity for local students who want to apply classroom learning to cutting-edge autonomous vehicle technology.
• Under the mentorship of a senior engineer, you’ll collaborate with PMs and engineers to design, develop, and enhance applications used in Client’s safety evaluation processes.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain Kotlin-based backend service components designed to deliver rider experience content to rider apps and in-vehicle displays.
• Construct local testing harnesses and test fixtures to enable independent team development without relying on live production systems.
• Lead and expand CI pipelines covering static analysis, testing, and automated builds to guarantee code quality prior to merging.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline code refactoring, scaffolding, and test suite generation, applying rigorous code review to generated outputs.

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from a B.S. or M.S. degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in developing functional software solutions using Kotlin
• Hands-on experience setting up or maintaining CI automation.
• Comfortable using AI coding assistants, including effective prompting and critically reviewing the output.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Proficiency or familiarity with Java or C++.
• Prior experience delivering production-grade code, such as through past internships or open-source contributions.
• Familiarity with test coverage frameworks and automated testing tooling.
• Strong interest in rider-facing software products or autonomous vehicle technology.
