Manual/ Automation Testing (Xstore)

Job Description:

• We are seeking a versatile Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer with expertise in both manual and automated software testing. In this role, you will design, execute, and maintain test plans to ensure high software quality across web applications, APIs, and databases.
• You will collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams to build and scale end-to-end automation frameworks, streamline regression test suites, and uphold rigorous quality standards across the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Job Requirements:
Automation testing:

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable automated test frameworks using Playwright or Selenium.
• Implement and manage BDD (Behavior-Driven Development) frameworks using Cucumber, TestNG, and Maven.
• Design, build, and execute robust automated and manual test suites for RESTful APIs using.
• RestAssured and Postman to validate endpoints, payloads, response times, and business logic.
• Integrate automated test suites into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines for automated execution and reporting.
• Continuously update and optimize regression and smoke test suites to minimize execution time and false positives.
• Design and execute end-to-end ETL and data warehouse test strategies to validate data accuracy, transformations, and schema integrity in Snowflake, while verifying downstream business intelligence reports, dashboards, and semantic models in MicroStrategy.

Manual Testing:

• Analyze functional, non-functional, and user story requirements to craft comprehensive test plans and test scenarios.
• Perform thorough manual execution for end-to-end, functional, integration, and UI testing across multiple browser and OS environments.
• Perform SQL and Database Testing to validate data integrity, backend business logic, and schema changes.
• Track, log, and manage software defects through JIRA within an Agile/Scrum framework.
• Author and manage structured test cases in Zephyr (or equivalent Test Case Management tools).
• Maintain clear documentation, test reports, and testing guidelines in Confluence or SharePoint.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Test Automation: 4+ years of hands-on experience building/maintaining automation frameworks with Playwright or Selenium.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka to validate event-driven architectures, monitor message queues, and verify message schemas across producers and consumers.
• Frameworks & Build Tools: Direct experience with BDD/Cucumber, TestNG, and Maven.
• Version Control & CI/CD: Proficiency with GitHub and building or running test pipelines in GitHub Actions.
• Database Testing: Strong command of SQL queries (JOINs, aggregates, filtering) for backend data validation.
• Agile Workflows: Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using JIRA for defect lifecycle management.
• Test Case Management: Experience writing, organizing, and executing test suites in Zephyr or similar tools (e.g., TestRail, Xray).
• Documentation: Proficiency in creating test strategy documents and execution summaries in Confluence or SharePoint.
• Experience in testing a POS system

Preferred:

• Prior domain experience in the Retail Industry.
• Hands-on testing experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems and integrated terminal software such as Oracle Xstore.
