Performance Test Engineer Lead

Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineering Lead to define and execute comprehensive performance testing strategies for enterprise systems within a Fortune 500 organization.
• In this role, you will take ownership of system scalability, lead non-functional testing initiatives, and establish performance and security best practices across cross-functional engineering teams.
• You will drive end-to-end performance engineering efforts for distributed microservices architectures, identify critical bottlenecks, and champion high reliability and resilience across our applications.

Job Requirements:
Performance & Security Leadership:

• Formulate and implement end-to-end performance test strategies, including load, stress, endurance, and spike testing across complex microservices architectures.
• Analyze system metrics, heap dumps, CPU utilization, and network logs to identify performance bottlenecks in distributed enterprise systems.
• Lead security penetration testing efforts to identify vulnerabilities, ensure security compliance, and enhance software resilience.
• Mentor cross-functional development and QA teams on performance engineering best practices, tuning standards, and scalability methodologies.

Test Automation & CI/CD:

• Design, build, and execute robust, scalable performance test suites using Apache JMeter.
• Develop automated test frameworks utilizing BDD, Cucumber, TestNG, and Maven.
• Integrate performance and automated security execution scripts into continuous delivery pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.

Execution, Data Validation & Management:

• Conduct SQL and Database Testing to assess backend performance, query optimization, indexing, and data throughput under load.
• Author and manage structured performance test cases using Zephyr (or equivalent Test Case Management tools) and track defects through JIRA in an Agile framework.
• Synthesize raw test metrics into actionable reporting, dashboards, and documentation in Confluence and SharePoint for executive and engineering stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 10+ years of hands-on experience leading a performance testing efforts in an organization
• Performance Testing: Mastery of Apache JMeter for designing high-concurrency load scripts and analyzing complex application behavior.
• Architecture Experience: Proven expertise in benchmarking and diagnosing microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Security Testing: Hands-on experience executing security penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
• Automation & Tools: Direct experience with BDD/Cucumber, TestNG, Maven, and integrating tests into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
• Database Analysis: Proficiency in SQL and database performance validation under concurrent user conditions.

Preferred:

• Prior domain experience in the Retail Industry.
• Hands-on testing experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems and integrated terminal software such as Oracle Xstore.
