Software Engineer

On-Site role

Job Description:

• The Perception team at client is fundamental to our autonomous vehicle technology, creating the understanding of the world for our self-driving robots. 
• We enable safe and efficient navigation in complex environments through sophisticated detection, classification, mapping, and tracking systems.
• You will be a contributor to client’s offline mapping initiative. High-definition semantic maps are critical for enabling fully autonomous driving at scale. 
• You will design, train, validate, and integrate models that detect semantic map elements in the world. 
• The priority will be to enable scalable mapping pipelines through automated mapping of new features.

Responsibilities:

• Research, implement, and train ML models to perform semantic map element detection.
• Curate, validate, and label datasets for model training and validation.
• Integrate models into the greater offboard mapping pipeline and lead automation of new mapping features.
• Leverage ML infrastructure to speed up development and deployment of ML models.
• Closely collaborate with validation teams to formulate and execute model validation pipelines.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years C++ experience.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, ideally UDP.
• Experience working with highly resilient distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills.

Bonus qualities:
Experience with any of the following:

• Any robotics experience or 3D computer vision experience is a bonus.
• Any mapping experience is a bonus.
