Electrical Distribution Engineer

On-Site role

Job Description:

• The Engineer 2 position requires 5–7 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power related systems.
• Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.

Job Responsibilities:

• Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first.
• Understand the process used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
• Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
• Understanding design practices and work processes.
• Using all software applications used in design.
• Understanding industry and client design standards.
• Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system.
• Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations.
• Estimating material for projects.
• Transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications.

Skillsets and Expertise Required:

• Good engineering knowledge.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Some discretion making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor.
• Discipline software knowledge.
• Strong work ethic.
• Positive attitude.
• The ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and/or vendors.
