Title: Quality Technician / Quality Metrology Technician
Location: Foster City, CA
Duration: 6 months

Job Description:

  • Prototyping division (XOPs) at Client provides rapid prototyping capability and facilitates quick design iterations for product development. We are now looking for someone enthusiastic, innovative, quality-driven, a self-starter, and willing to take on the challenges to work with us as an exceptional Quality Metrology Technician to help us increase the quality of our products.
  • The candidate will be working within the inspection and quality dep, with manufacturing, and product development engineering to ensure the products manufactured in-house are meeting design specifications and required documentation. The successful candidate must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to work independently. You will be supporting projects developed by cross-functional teams where individual performance is measured by quality results, teamwork, and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate inspection and quality requirements for new Jira tickets to interpret inspection plans and conduct visual, functional, and mechanical measurements, & tests across multitudes of parts ranging from injection molding, castings, and 3D printed parts, to CNC machined parts and electromechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Review supplier-provided documentation for outsourced parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with requirements.
  •  Create and submit inspection and quality documents including detailed Inspection Reports, Dimensional reports, Functional Test Reports (FTRs), Process Certs, Material Certs, Rework Instructions, Temporary Deviation Orders (TDOs), Packaging Reports, and Part Submission Warrants (PSWs) in various quality databases including Jira, RGBSI, 3DX, and other Internal Quality Logs.
  • Document and record non-conformances discovered during inspection via TDOs and Jira Tickets.
  • Maintain parts traceability requirements per Client standard.
  • Perform Metrology tasks using CMM and/or 3D laser scanner, as other standard metrology equipment.
  •  Maintain the calibration schedule of the production and test equipment.
  • Assist the RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Action) to drive quality issues to resolution.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • The minimum requirement of an associate’s degree in a relevant field and 6 years of experience. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Previous mechanical, electrical, and electronics equipment inspection background with the ability to use precision measurement tools.
  • Experience in defining and executing quality inspection criteria for CNC machined, and 3D printed parts.
  • Basic knowledge of QMS (Quality Management System) and Core Quality tools such as  Process Flow Chart, PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis), Control Plan, and Measurement System Analysis.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings using GD&T methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written). 

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of PC-DMIS programming. 
  • Understanding of sampling methods.
  • Working knowledge of Excel / Google Sheets, Jira, and RGBSI.
