Title: Contract Administrator/Jr. Paralegal 
Location: Santa Monica, CA, 1601 Cloverfield Boulevard, Suite 4000N
Duration: 6-12 months+ potential extensions
Worksite Location:  Hybrid - Remote on Fridays  and Onsite Monday-Thursday days a week

Job Description:
Duties:

  • This role supports the Business & Legal Affairs department of UMG’s busy and exciting merchandising division, Bravado. 
  • Assist supervisor and legal team with administrative duties, scheduling, expense reports, etc.
  • Prepare first drafts of contracts and documents from existing templates
  • Review third-party comments on such contracts and documents for supervisor signoff
  • Keep track of status updates in existing tracking systems (especially Monday.com)
  • Data entry
  • File organization
  • DocuSign
  • Provide reporting and updates to the legal team from existing tracking systems

Skills:
Mandatory Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and good judgment
  • Follow up on assignments until completion
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and is resourceful; takes ownership of tasks and projects
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to interact with outside attorneys and executive management
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments; work well under pressure
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
  • College degree, paralegal certificate a plus
  • At least two years of proven work experience as a Paralegal, Contract Administrator, Contract Manager, or Administrator
  • Extremely detail-oriented, with an ability to spot errors
  • Familiarity with Apple computers and software, mastery of Word, Excel, Monday.com, and Preview/Adobe
  • Solid research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Organizes own work, coordinating projects, setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and following up on assignments with a minimum of direction
  • Dedicated team player

“Plus” Skills:

  • Knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts
  • Familiarity with copyright and trademark laws
  • Familiarity with brand licensing and royalty accounting procedures
  • Music industry knowledge

Education:

  • Associate's Degree required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
